What is SITAC?

SITAC is a Training Advisory Council in the Northern Territory of Australia.  The Northern Territory Training Advisory Councils (TACs) along with National Industry Skills Councils (ISCs) and State Industry Training Advisory Bodies (ITABs) work with industry, enterprises, schools, governments and training providers to ensure a skilled workforce through appropriate vocational training arrangements for their respective industries.  SITAC is an independent, incorporated, not for profit association led by a Board of Directors principally from NT industry.

SITAC is principally funded by the Northern Territory Department of Education and Training. Industry supports SITAC through Board representation, provision of expert industry advice and project work.

The Role of SITAC

SITAC acts as an intermediary working directly with industry, enterprises and training providers to implement training arrangements which industry has identified as necessary.  It reports industry labour market information to the NT government and assists in the development and implementation of national industry training packages.

We provide advice to industry, enterprises, government and training providers to improve training opportunities in our industries of coverage through:

  • policy and planning
